Touching Love Story of The Blind Passenger

Came across a touching love story of an attractive 32 years old young woman -Susan, who become blind due to a medical misdiagnosis. In a terrible twist of fate, the fiercely independent woman, had been rendered sightless, and was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. Feeling condemned by this unfortunate loss of her sight, Susan began to see herself as a powerless and helpless burden on everyone around her.

Never has a day passed without her thinking – “How could this have happened to me ?” or “Why does this happened to me ?”. Within a year after the misfortune, the usually optimistic woman has become depressed, bitter and frustrated person. Everyday she would plead, her heart knotted with anger, but no matter how much she cried, protested, ranted or prayed, she knew the painful truth that her sight was never going to return. And all she had to cling to was her husband Mark.

Mark was an Air Forces officer and he loved Susan with all of his heart. When she first lost her sight, he watched her sink into despair and was determined to help his wife gain the strength and confidence she needed to become independent again. Mark’s military background had trained him well to deal with such sensitive situations, and yet he knew this was the most difficult battle he would ever face.

Finally, Susan felt ready to return to her job, but how would she get there? She used to take the bus, but was now too frightened to get around the city by herself. Mark volunteered to drive her to and from work each day, even though they worked at opposite ends of the city.

At first, this comforted Susan and fulfilled Mark’s need to protect his sightless wife who was so insecure about performing the slightest task. Soon, however, Mark realized that this arrangement wasn’t working, it was hectic and costly. ‘Susan is going to have to start taking the bus again‘ he admitted to himself, but just the thought of mentioning it to her made him cringe, she was still so fragile and so angry. ‘How would she react?‘ he admitted to himself again.

Just as Mark predicted, Susan was horrified at the idea of taking the bus again. “I’m blind!” she responded bitterly “How am I supposed to know where I’m going? I feel like you’re abandoning me”. Mark’s heart broke to hear these words, but he knew what had to be done. He promised Susan that each morning and evening he would ride the bus with her, for as long as it took, until she got the hang of it. And that is exactly what happened.

For two solid weeks, Mark, military uniform and all, accompanied Susan to and from work each day. He taught her how to rely on her other senses specifically her hearing, how to determine where she was and how to adapt to her new environment.

He helped her befriend the bus drivers who could watch out for her, and save her a seat. He made her laugh, even on those not-so-good days when she would trip exiting the bus, or drop her briefcase. Each morning they made the journey together, and Mark would take a cab back to his office. Although this routine was even more costly and exhausting than the previous one, Mark knew it was only a matter of time before Susan would be able to ride the bus on her own. He believed in her, he used to know before she’d lost her sight, who wasn’t afraid of any challenge and who would never, ever quit.

Finally, Susan decided that she was ready to try the trip on her own. Monday morning arrived, and before she left, she threw her arms around Mark, her temporary bus riding companion, her husband and her best friend. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his loyalty, his sincerity, his patience and his love. She said good-bye, and for the first time, they went their separate ways. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, each day on her own went perfectly, and Susan had never felt better. She was doing it and she was going to work all by herself.

On Friday morning, Susan took the bus to work as usual. As she was paying for her fare to exit the bus, the driver said “Boy, I sure envy you” Susan wasn’t sure if the driver was speaking to her or not. After all, who on earth would ever envy a blind woman who had struggled just to find the courage to live for the past year? Curiously, she asked him “Why do you say that you envy me?” The driver responded “It must feel so good to be taken care of and protected like you are”.

Susan had no idea what the driver was talking about, she asked him again “What do you mean?”. The driver answered, “You know, every morning for the past week, a fine looking gentleman in a military uniform has been standing across the corner watching you when you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the street safely and he watches you until you enter your office building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives you a little salute and walks away. You are one lucky lady”.

Tears of happiness poured down Susan’s cheeks. For although she couldn’t physically see him, she had always felt Mark’s presence. She was fortunate, so fortunate, for he had given her a gift more powerful than sight, a gift she didn’t need to see to believe, the gift of love that can bring light where there had been darkness. You don’t love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her.

“God watches over us in just the same way. We may not know His presence, and we may not be able to see His blessed face, but He is there nonetheless!”

Going Back To Our Animal Instinct

Going Back To Our Animal Instinct

Homosapien (Human Beings) has evolved from Prehistoric time till present as the top of the chain in the Animal Kingdom, why ? Because of our intelligence and ability to think, act and feel what is right and what is wrong – either morally / logically.

However, our continuous pursuit of economic development and material needs has to some extend make us become selfish, unfeeling, emotionless, oblivious and most of all indifferent to what is happening around us.

See below 2 categories of video between what is an act of human, the supposedly Superior species of the Animal Kingdom and compare what other “Animals” did in the moment :

INCREDIBLE ANIMALS

Scarlett the brave mother cat

Endearing Sea Lion worried about Little Girl falling over

Gorilla Save Child

HUMAN BEINGS (SUPERIOR SPECIES) ???

Girl Toddler run over by car, 18 people walked past and ignore her

So Who is the more “Superior” species ? Some humans sure can learn from these animals.

Reflect on how we have evolved and better ourselves to be more compassionate, kind and caring towards others – man and human included.

One Good Deed Per Day – The Spiritual Medicine

One Good Deed Per Day

Many times when asked, “When was the last time you did something for someone that is really enriching and self-satisfaction for yourself ?”, I wasn’t able to recall.

However, today I just did something really insignificantly simple but makes myself really good.
You see, this morning I was at a coffee place near my home for my breakfast and the place is really crowded with people. But the shop is under staffed with only one old man running around taking orders. Seeing this, I decided to go to the counter and “self-service” my orders (making it faster as I am in a bit of a rush).

After ordering, I took my food and coffee and sat myself down at the nearest table close to the ordering counter and continue seeing the Old Uncle hurrying around taking orders, delivering them and back to placing orders again.

There was this gentleman that was sitting next to the table beside me and has ordered a cup of coffee from the Uncle. When the coffee was prepared, the Uncle was running around the shop, coffee in hand, forgetting who has placed the order. He was kind of tired and exhausted with the morning “exercise” running around the shop serving customers.

So, I simply waved to him and pointed to the gentleman that has ordered the coffee. Thinking that I wanted to place my orders too, the Old Uncle walked towards me, cup of coffee still in his hand.

When he approaches me, I simply said to him – “Uncle, this is the gentleman that ordered his coffee.” He suddenly realised what I am trying to do and nodded with a faint and exhaustive smile back to me. Appreciating that he does not have to go around finding the customer for the coffee.

To me, it was a simple and small deed that does not require much effort but it gave me great satisfaction that by doing so, I have helped the Uncle and make his job a little easier. It is such moments that reminded us that all of us can make the world a better place by doing one good deeds per day. It does not need to be really heroic, not something that has to be really impactful and need to be involved in some kind of volunteer organisation, IT CAN SIMPLY BE – helping a fellow human being that is in need at that moment. Something like helping someone crossing the road, helping someone that is carrying too many stuffs, helping someone that needs a seat on the public transport.

Such simple good deeds can be really effortless, but it really does give a warming feeling to the one that is “Giving”, as well as someone that is “Receiving”. So – “When is the last time that you remember yourself doing something good for someone ?” “Have you done something good for someone today?”

Crazy Or Amazing People ? You Decide.

Many times when we watched videos of people doing “incredibly crazy” stuffs and succeeded, we can’t help to ask ourselves – What makes these people do it ?!

There has been psychological studies on these people who do dangerously, crazy stunts / acts and they keep on going back to do it again and again until they have perfected it. But why ? Studies has show that, ironically, these are the people that have viewed life as a challenge, love life more than anyone else, have a higher force of life in them and are always looking to live life to the fullest !!

By engaging in these dangerously activities, the participants instead of seeing it as an act of endangering their own life, they are “living life”. It gives them the adrenal and power to conquer life and its obstacles…

Now, I am not saying that everyone should get out now and try to imitate these people (remember – they are professionals). What I am trying to point here is that we need to harvest the spirit of these incredible people – THE SPIRIT OF NEVER SAY DIE, THE SPIRIT OF NEVER AFRAID OF FAILURE, THE SPIRIT OF YOU ONLY LIVED ONCE, THE SPIRIT OF PURSUING YOUR DREAMS !!!

Now, isn’t these “Spirit of the mind” achievable by YOU & ME ???

See below videos of the incredibly amazing people and get inspired :

LIVE LIFE, DREAM BIG, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE !!

Cheers everyone.
